Chasen Logistics Services Limited is a specialist relocation company serving its customers in the semiconductor industry, solar panel manufacturing, pharmaceutical and other electronics manufacturing MNCs in Singapore.
Chasen Logistics is a subsidiary of Chasen Holdings Limited (“CHL”), an investment holding company listed on the SGX with three diversified business segments in Specialist Relocation Logistics, Third Party Logistics and Technical & Engineering Services. CHL has eight operating subsidiaries in Singapore and another eight in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, PRC and the USA.
The switch to renewable
In the modern business landscape, sustainability plays an integral role. From annual sustainability reporting to vendor requirements set out by clients and corporations, it is clear that Chasen needs to kickstart its sustainability journey. This is something that Francis Ang, Group Sustainability Officer of Chasen Holdings Limited, sets out to do.
One area of improvement identified by Francis was switching from conventional electricity to renewable electricity for its electrical needs. In late 2021, Chasen Logistics switched to Flo and started using 100% renewable energy for its energy requirements. This forms part of its greening efforts to achieve the Group’s sustainability goals.
Switching to renewable energy is an opportunity presented to us by Flo, and I do not regret taking the chance.
We are pleased with the Renewable Energy Certificates and have used them as one of the prerequisites for the Eco Office and Eco Manufacturing certification by the Singapore Environmental Council.
Our sustainability efforts have also opened up more business opportunities.

Francis noted that some of its customers and vendors were surprised and elated when they came to know that Chasen Logistics is using 100% renewable energy. A couple of the local major banks have proposed to work with Chasen in its sustainability journey and help them qualify for green financing for its banking needs. Chasen also mentioned that a couple of their customers came to know of their greening efforts, and have decided to award Chasen with solar panels installation projects.
The decision to switch to 100% renewable energy has built new meaningful relationships, which ultimately translates into more opportunities for growth. Francis has also convinced and switched another Singapore subsidiary, Hup Lian Engineering Pte Ltd, to adopt 100% renewable energy with Flo since April 2022.
We have also purchased an electric van in November 2021 to take full advantage of our renewable energy. Using charging port in our office, we can claim that our van runs on 100% renewable energy.
We shall progressively replace our diesel-operated fleet of pick-ups and passenger vans, when the electric versions are available in the Singapore market

Being an early adopter of renewable energy helps Chasen to gain a competitive advantage and stay ahead of its competition. Francis has also encouraged and motivated other subsidiaries within the Chasen Group to make the switch to 100% renewable energy for its sustainable power requirements.
