Flo Member Spotlight
Mandala Club

Mandala Club
Founded in 2021 in the vibrant heart of Chinatown, Mandala Club is unlike any private members' club. It offers its members a wealth of opportunities to try new things and meet amazing people. It's where business, leisure, and meaningful connections come together.
Mandala Club’s strong commitment to sustainability differentiates it from its peers in the community and club space. From day one, it has prioritised investing in people and projects to ensure its business positively impacts the planet. This approach has been woven into every facet of its operations and culture.
Sustainability Approach
The team at Mandala Club is constantly testing new ways to be more sustainable. Every month, they try out a new idea through a pilot programme. Over the past three years, this has yielded tangible results, including an 8% reduction in energy bills, attributed to optimised air conditioning usage.
Mandala Club prioritises procuring local and sustainable ingredients in its Food and Beverage offerings. The club has also adopted sustainable alternatives for items such as coasters and straws, recognising the cumulative impact of consumables. Moreover, Mandala Club actively engages its membership and collaborates with sustainability-focused non-governmental organisations (NGOs) through its event calendar and partnerships, fostering a broader culture of environmental responsibility.

Biggest Challenge
Mandala Club’s biggest sustainability challenge was its reliance on the grid for electricity. Being connected to the grid meant its carbon emissions were basically tied to the national average.
To address this issue, Mandala Club started exploring alternative energy solutions. This led to the consideration of on-site solar energy generation, representing a pivotal point in their sustainability strategy.

Thanks to Flo Solar Solutions, we've been able to tap into solar power with minimal capital investment, which has helped us meet our decarbonisation goals.

Working with Flo
With Flo Solar Solutions, Mandala Club is able to tap into onsite solar energy with minimal capital investment, which helps it to decarbonise. By partnering with Flo, Mandala Club wants to show that everyone can contribute to the energy transition, regardless of the size of their business.
Mandala Club is extremely proud to be the first heritage building in Chinatown with rooftop solar power. It has also launched the Mandala Solar Collective, an initiative focused on collaborating with other businesses to increase accessibility to solar energy through knowledge sharing and support in transitioning to clean energy.

I think it's really inspiring to see Mandala Club leading the way in terms of heritage buildings, embracing solar power and clean energy.
