Sunray Woodcraft Construction
Founded in 1987, Sunray is a Singapore-based construction company that has grown into Singapore’s largest Addition and Alteration, Interior Fit-out works specialist today. Sunray’s iconic projects include Raffles Hotel, Jewel Changi, Resorts World Sentosa and Marina Bay Sands, whose prominent structures stand out in Singapore’s city skyline, reflecting the high standard of their work. With a vision to be an integral part of iconic structures in every city of the world, Sunray continues to expand globally, delivering exceptional projects across multiple regions.
Rising Electricity Costs
In early 2023, Sunray recognised the need to quantify its decarbonisation efforts with tangible figures. It also anticipated a significant rise in electricity prices due to various factors, such as the disruption of fossil fuel supplies from geopolitical uncertainties, increases in Singapore’s carbon tax, and the indirect costs of capital expenditure needed to build more efficient power plants for the national grid. These factors would collectively lead to higher operational costs for businesses.

Going Solar with Flo
To address Sunray’s concerns, Flo offered a pragmatic solution through a renewable Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). This agreement not only supports Sunray’s decarbonisation goals but also helps mitigate the fluctuations in electricity tariffs.
The entire experience working with Flo and their partners was smooth and pleasant. They addressed all our technical and commercial questions patiently.

Today, Sunray is proud to have approximately 200 solar panels installed on the rooftop of its headquarters. Reaching this point took multiple rounds of discussions, planning, adjustments, and redesigns, but the results were worth it.
For Sunray’s Management, Facility, and ESG teams, this was an exciting journey—marking the first time they had undertaken a renewable generation project. They view it as a win-win initiative: the solar project enables Sunray to take meaningful action toward a shared sustainable future, particularly aligning with their Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) sub-target 7.2, which focuses on integrating green technologies into buildings to harness renewable energy.
They’re now producing clean energy, reducing their carbon footprint, and even contributing excess power back to the national grid.
